We are happy to announce that Maddie Shen is the 2019 recipient of the Clyde Ferguson Bull Traveling Fellowship. A major in French Studies and Economics, she has studied French since the 6th grade. At Rice, Maddie took her first French class, FR 313, with Dr. Couti in the Fall of 2019. When Dr. Nelson-Cambell visited one day to talk about study abroad and travel fellowships for study abroad in France, Maddie decided to apply for the Bull Fellowship. She will spend the Spring semester of her junior year (2020) in Paris in order to perfect her language skills and cultural competence. She cannot wait to experience French culture first hand. We wish her well.
