The first triennial conference of the International Society for Socratic Studies took place at Rice on July 11-14, 2022. About fifty scholars from all over the world came to Rice to present their work on Socrates, Plato, and the other writers of the ancient Greek traditions that trace their lineage back to Socrates and use him as a figure for philosophical investigation. The conference's chief organizer was Don Morrison of Rice's Philosophy department, a courtesy MCLC faculty member. Professor Harvey Yunis was a local host who assisted Don Morrison.
