On the morning of April 1, students from LALX 390 took an inspiring trip to the Ion Prototyping Lab with Professor Castro, where they explored the exciting intersection of art, entrepreneurship, and innovation. A special thank you to Larry Ciscon, the Lab’s director, for providing an insightful tour and showcasing how technology comes to life in this dynamic space.

The group traveled by metro, adding to their experience of seeing innovation in different urban contexts. Throughout the visit, students engaged in thought-provoking discussions, comparing and contrasting their observations with Latin American science and technology studies (STS) and the techno-cultural perspectives covered in their course.
Although some students were unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts or illness, those who participated had a fantastic experience. The visit concluded with an outdoor lunch, where students reflected on their insights while enjoying sandwiches in the sunshine.
